The Integrated Service Post (Posyandu) is one of the spearheads of health services for mothers and children. Several years ago the condition of the posyandu in the villages of the Gilireng District was quite apprehensive. The condition of the buildings is not proper, and there are even some who still use under the house to carry out activities.
In order to improve the quality of posyandu services, EEES has built proper posyandu facilities in all villages in Gilireng District, Plua in Macanang Village, Majauleng District. This activity has proven to increase the enthusiasm of posyandu performance in this area. In fact, some of them have succeeded in representing Wajo District in posyandu competitions at the provincial level.
The Posyandu revitalization program does not only provide assistance in the form of buildings, but also additional food programs for toddlers participating in the Posyandu and assistance with transportation costs for cadres. Assistance became the main attraction for both cadres and parents of toddlers and succeeded in increasing the average number of posyandu visits to an optimal level.
EEES also actively cooperates with the Community Health Centers to help overcome the problem of malnutrition around the company’s operational areas, by providing milk assistance to babies with lower body weight (BGM) and medical assistance and food supplements for babies who experience malnutrition problems.
