Poleonro and Abbatireng villages as the closest villages where EEES operates have experienced clean water problems since ancient times, the community has difficulty obtaining clean water, the people in these two villages depend on rainwater that is collected, when the dry season comes they have to buy water from other villages at a fairly high price.
EEES as one of the Cooperation Contract Contractors (KKKS) operating under the supervision of SKK Migas through its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program tries to help the community by providing adequate clean water facilities.
The long journey to bring water to Polenro and Abbatireng villages began by conducting a geological survey to find adequate water sources. Efforts have been made since 2012-2013 to find water sources by deploying experts to conduct surveys in several places but the results are nil. The water source was continued where finally an adequate water source was found around Mamminasae Village, about 4 Km from Abbatireng and Poleonro Villages. The effort to collect water was continued with drilling activities to make 2 deep wells. before being pumped into a reservoir that was built in Abbatireng Village, which is approximately 4 kilometers away. To ensure that water pressure can reach Poleonro Village, another booster pump is added near the reservoir.
The quality of water is of great concern to the company, so before it is distributed to the Dividing Reservoir, the water from the purification tank is filtered first using carbon tube filter technology, so that the water supplied to residents’ homes is of very good quality and clear.
