Whistleblowing System
As one of the leading oil and gas companies in Indonesia, EMP is committed to the values of Good Corporate Governance and recognizes both the financial and non-financial impacts of potential misconduct. EMP believes that a robust and comprehensive Whistleblowing policy is key to upholding EMP’s core values and mitigating business risks arising from potential unethical behavior.
EMP has recently enhanced its whistleblowing program to strengthen corporate transparency and maintain high ethical standards across the entire organization by appointing Deloitte as an independent whistleblowing system consultant in 2024.

The Consultant and the Internal Management Team will collaborate to ensure a comprehensive, fact-based investigation process. This is guided by a four-step process principle, outlined as follows:
The whistleblower submits a complaint, which is received by the WBS Consultant. Whistleblowers may report matters including, but not limited to:
Non-compliance with prevailing laws and regulations.
Abuse of authority for purposes unrelated to Company interests.
Extortion.
Conflict of Interest.
Gratification.
Theft.
Corruption.
Violations of company policies.
Human rights violations.
Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) violations.
The WBS Consultant receives and logs all complaints/disclosures, which will then be formulated before being shared with the Internal Management Team for further investigation.
The Internal Management Team investigates the submitted complaints and determines the necessary follow-up actions.
Following the investigation, the findings will be shared and reviewed internally.
EMP will actively disclose a summary of the whistleblowing system outcomes in our Annual and Sustainability Report, covering:
The total number of reports received.
Breakdown of reports categorized by type of violation.
Follow-up actions taken regarding the reports and investigations conducted.
To ensure that this whistleblowing system is utilized to its full potential, EMP encourages its use by committing to:
Strict Confidentiality: The investigation process will be maintained with strict confidentiality, ensuring the anonymity of all parties involved, including whistleblowers, the reported parties, the investigation team, and informants. EMP is committed to ensuring that no breaches of confidentiality occur throughout the whistleblowing inquiry.
Anti-Retaliation and Non-Intimidation: EMP values feedback from Whistleblowers and treats any form of retaliation or intimidation seriously by enforcing a zero-tolerance policy. Violators will face severe disciplinary sanctions.
Accessibility: EMP ensures that reporting channels are open to everyone, including employees across all levels as well as third parties such as customers, vendors, and the general public, without fear of retaliation.
