
To increase the capacity of stakeholders around its operational area, Energy Equality Epic Sengkang (EEES) in collaboration with the Wajo Regency Village Community Empowerment Service (DPMD), and the Gilireng District Government held an activity entitled Bumdes Capacity Building Workshop, at the Rechall Energy Equity Hall, Kampung Baru.
The activity was held involving the management of Village Owned Enterprises (Bumdes) throughout the Gilireng District involving P3MD Expert Wajo Regency speakers. This training aims to help strengthen the quality of human resources, knowledge and managerial skills in managing BUMDes in Gilireng District. Besides that, the training is also expected to encourage an increase in the entrepreneurial spirit of administrators, strengthening the management of BUMDes and an overview of current and future business challenges and opportunities.
Community capacity building through the BUMDes business unit group is the implementation of Law Number 6 of 2014 concerning Villages, and Regulation of the Minister of Villages, Development of Disadvantaged Regions and Transmigration Number 4 of 2015 concerning Establishment of Management and Dissolution of BUMDes.
Law Number 6 of 2014 and Government Regulation Number 43 of 2014 concerning Regulations for Implementing Law Number 6 of 2014 emphasize that BUMDes are a pillar of village economic activity that has a function as a social and commercial institution in empowering all economic potential and human resources, in order to improve the welfare of the people in the village.
The activity which was held for 2 sessions received support from various parties including the community in the village and all stakeholders. Also received appreciation from the Government of Wajo Regency to PT. Energy Equality Epic Sengkang for its concern participates in developing the capacity of Bumdes Management.
The idea of organizing this workshop was initiated by a suggestion from a group of youths from Poleonro Village to conduct screen printing training for their members, but were constrained by costs after coordinating with the local village head. Group activities are directed to become one of the Bumdes business units and have received screen printing and printing equipment assistance from the company.
To strengthen the management of business units and BUMDes as a whole, stakeholders and companies have agreed to hold training involving all BUMDes in Gilireng District. The workshop was carried out in two parts: the first session was attended by Bumdes administrators from Lamata, Poleonro, Abbatireng and Mamminasae Villages, while the second session was attended by Bumdes administrators from Paselloreng, Arajang, Polewalie, and Alausalo Villages (*)
