In an effort to support the implementation of the link and match program between the education and industry sectors, an important agreement was signed on Friday, March 8, 2024, at the Site Main Office of Energy Equity Epic (Sengkang) Pty. Ltd. (Energy Equity). The internship cooperation agreement involves Energy Equity and SMK Negeri 5 Majauleng, Wajo Regency.
The internship cooperation agreement was signed by Hadayullah Hamid, who serves as the Field Operation Manager of Energy Equity, and H. Muhamad Amin, S.Pd., M.M, as the Principal of SMK Negeri 5 Majauleng, Wajo Regency.

This agreement is a form of active participation from SKK Migas and Energy Equity, which are the KKKS operating in Sengkang, South Sulawesi, in supporting the government’s efforts to improve the quality of human resources in the upstream oil and gas sector. With this agreement, it is hoped that a strong synergy between the education and oil and gas industry sectors will occur, ultimately benefiting both parties.
Through the internship program to be implemented, selected students from SMK Negeri 5 Majauleng will have the valuable opportunity to gain firsthand experience in the field and acquire knowledge and skills relevant to the oil and gas industry. On the other hand, Energy Equity will gain additional options for recruiting young workforce ready to contribute to their operations. Given the experiences so far with the existing culture there, I suggest avoiding narratives that could potentially cause misperceptions.

This agreement marks an important milestone in efforts to create a balanced and sustainable education and industry ecosystem. With close collaboration between Energy Equity and SMK Negeri 5 Majauleng, it is expected that a competent younger generation will emerge, ready to compete in facing the increasingly complex challenges of the oil and gas industry in the future.
