Polewalie, March 15, 2024 – As part of the efforts to enhance communication with local governments and communities, SKK Migas Representatives for Kalimantan and Sulawesi (Kalsul) held an event for socialization and location survey for drilling the Village Baru 10# (KB#10) well. The event took place at the Polewalie Village Office, Gilireng District, on March 15, 2024.
The activity was attended by various parties, including Gilireng Sub-District Head Andi Muhammad Al Fatih, Gilireng Police, Chief IPTU Reski G, Gilireng and posramil Pelda, Kusnadi, Head of Polewalie Village Muliadi, as well as landowners related to the project.
The main objective of this event was to formally inform the local government and landowners about SKK Migas’ plan to drill well KB#10. This event also serves as one of the stages in the land acquisition process for the location.
In his speech, the Gilireng Sub-Distric, Head emphasized the importance of community support for upstream oil and gas activities, including drilling wells, as part of the country’s activities. Meanwhile, the Gilireng Police Chief reminded the importance of honesty among residents in indicating their land boundaries to avoid legal issues in the future.
The SKK Migas team explained the role and function of SKK Migas as the state representative in overseeing the upstream oil and gas industry, the land acquisition process in the upstream oil and gas industry, as well as the commitment to transparency and corruption prevention. In addition, Energy Equity also provided an explanation of the drilling project process to residents, starting from the Drilling Site Preparation (DSP) stage and general oil and gas drilling technology.
Well KB#10 itself is located in Awerange Hamlet, Polewalie Village, Gilireng District, and is part of the Sengkang oil block operated by Energy Equity Epic Sengkang (EEES). This gas well is a development well that will support the operations of the Kampung Baru Central Processing Plant (CPP) in maintaining the supply of gas fuel for electricity generation in this area.
After discussing with landowners and other stakeholders, landowner residents expressed their approval of this activity by signing the socialization and survey minutes.
The socialization event was then continued with a joint visit to the drilling location to carry out the location survey activity. This marks the initial step in the drilling process for well KB#10 in Polewalie. With this socialization, it is hoped that good cooperation can be established between SKK Migas, local governments, and communities in supporting the development of the upstream oil and gas sector for mutual progress.
