Bumdes Strengthening

PECERIAN Energy Equity Epic Sengkang Pty. Ltd (EEES) in strengthening the village economy around its operational area has again been shown by helping with the capital of Village-Owned Enterprises (BUMDes).
Strengthening began with training to increase the capacity of BUMDes managers in Gilireng District in 2018. Slowly but surely, the Cooperation Contract Contractor (KKKS) of the Sengkang Oil and Gas Block began to help BUMDes capital by providing working capital materials to BUMDes around their area of operation.

In 2019, EEES started this BUMDes strengthening program by providing digital printing equipment assistance to “Barumpunk Creative”, one of the business units of BUMDes Polenro, Gilireng District. Through assistance from expert village assistants, the business unit fronted by youths from Poleonro Village has now succeeded in producing convection shirt screen printing prints and other printed materials.
The program then continued to Abbatireng Village. Through business planning analysis, Abbatireng BUMDes chose to establish a Refill Drinking Water Depot business unit. This is inseparable from the potential of villages that already have a clean water network which is also the result of the 2013 EEES CSR program.
Through the CSR Program in the Economy, Energy Equity has again shown its concern for the importance of strengthening BUMDes as an economic pillar of village independence, by providing a set of refill drinking water depot equipment to BUMDes Abbatireng. This CSR Economics Program was worked on at the end of 2019, and was handed over to the Director of BUMDes Abbatireng on Friday, 10 July 2020, after being delayed due to the COVID19 pandemic outbreak. It is hoped that the presence of this refill drinking water depot can increase the BUMDes’ income while at the same time ensuring the availability of healthy drinking water for residents of Abbatireng Village and its surroundings.
To support the development of BUMDes, the company constantly coordinates with related parties, namely the Wajo Regency Village Community Empowerment Service, expert village assistants, sub-district governments, villages and BUMDes administrators. Coordination is carried out starting from planning, construction, handing over of assistance and even accompanying the management of business units until they are able to run business units independently.
BUMDes itself is a strategic unit for village independence. Referring to the laws and regulations governing villages, especially Law Number 6 of 2014, it is concluded that BUMDes is a village economic institution that has an important role in realizing the welfare of the community, village and village government.
Professional governance with reference to the guidelines for establishing BUMDes based on laws and regulations is a prerequisite for the proper functioning of BUMDes. Thus BUMDes economic activities can ideally be part of efforts to improve the local and regional economy within the scope of the national economy. (*)
