EEES Helps Tornado Victims

Botto, The flood disaster that hit 6 districts in Kab. Wajo, Disaster has again tested the patience of the residents of Botto Village, Kec. Takkalalla, this time a tornado swept several locations on September 16, 2021 at 04.00 in the morning. The raging tornado coming from the sea resulted in 13 houses lightly damaged, 24 houses moderately damaged and 10 houses heavily damaged. Most of the affected houses suffered damage to the roof, this damage was felt by residents on the coast of the eastern district of Kab. Wajo is because currently it is still in season in rainy season weather.

To ease the burden of the suffering of the people, Energy Equity Epic Sengkang Pty. Ltd (EEES) in collaboration with the Wajo Regency Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) distributed assistance in the form of 441 sheets of zinc roofing to help residents whose roofs were damaged by the tornado. Assistance was distributed with the Wajo Regent H. Amran Mahmud on September 18 2021. The Wajo Regent, who was accompanied by the Acting Secretary of the Wajo Regional Government and several local government officials and the Takkalalla Sub-district Head, in his direction thanked all donors for their participation in alleviating the suffering of residents who were struck by the disaster. “On behalf of the Regional Government of Kab. Wajo, we would like to thank Energy Equity for helping out with 441 pieces of zinc, as well as all other donors. I hope this disaster will bring wisdom to all of us,” said the Regent who is known for his modesty.
Meanwhile CSR/External Relations Superintendent EEES Andi Gustina said that this assistance is a form of concern for the upstream oil and gas industry to always contribute to society “This is a form of our commitment which is always supported by SKK Migas to continue to contribute in various fields of community life, including in times of disaster” he said.
On that occasion also attended the Dandim 1406 and the ranks of the Takkalalla Koramil, the Head of the Takkalalla Police and Member of the South Sulawesi DPRD Desy Susanty Sutomo who were also present to provide assistance.(rls)
