EEES Warmly Welcomes the Visit of Junior High School Students from SMP Negeri 2 Sengkang

Wajo, February 8, 2024 – Energy Equity Epic (Sengkang) Pty. Ltd. (EEES) welcomed the visit of students from SMP Negeri 2 Sengkang on Thursday, February 8, 2024. The group, consisting of 65 people including teachers, was greeted in the yard of the CPP (Central Processing Plant) in Kampung Baru, Poleonro Village, Gilireng District with the purpose of introducing the upstream oil and gas industry to the young generation, especially in the EEES operational area.

The visit, in the form of an educational tour, aimed to provide the students with deeper knowledge about the process of managing natural resources, particularly natural gas owned by Wajo County.

The students tried out several personal protective equipment

Field Operations Manager, Hadayullah Hamid, personally welcomed and provided explanations to the students regarding EEES’s operations in managing the natural gas resources in Wajo County. The explanation covered various positive impacts generated, such as the availability of electricity and household gas networks in Sengkang city and its surroundings.

In addition to gaining knowledge about facility management, the participants were also introduced to basic workplace safety principles and were given the opportunity to try some basic personal protective equipment used in the oil and gas industry, including coverall suits, safety helmets, and safety shoes.

Rayatussalam, S.Pd., the mentor from SMP Negeri 2 Sengkang, expressed his deepest gratitude to EEES for agreeing to receive the group, even though the visit was conducted on a national holiday. The main goal of this visit was to develop the students’ competences in Social Sciences by allowing them to see firsthand the management of natural resources owned by their region.

Through this visit, it is hoped that the students can enrich their knowledge about the natural and cultural wealth of Wajo County, and provide inspiration for them to contribute to the development of the region and the nation in the future. (bf)
